Bond Oversight Committee

Scottsdale Unified School District (SUSD)
has established The Bond Oversight Committee which consists of parents, community and business members and District employees. The committee, which meets every three months, is charged with overseeing the expenditure of $118 million of construction funds approved by the voters in the November 3, 2010 election. They ensure that the voter approved bond dollars are utilized in the best interest of our school district and neighboring communities.

Blue Ribbon Advisory Council

Purpose and Role:
  1. Provide a venue in which stakeholders (together) offer advice on matters that affect the District’s mission.
  2. Foster communication to and from all stakeholders.
  3. Strengthen school-community relationships.
  4. Provide a sounding board for the Superintendent.

Advisory Only: Intended to support and enhance the efforts of the Governing Board and Superintendent.

Capital Override Oversight Committee

Scottsdale Unified School District (SUSD) has established a Capital Override Oversight Committee consisting of parents, community and business members and District employees. The committee, which meets every three months, is charged with overseeing the expenditure of $9.9 million annually for the 7 years of the voter approved Capital Override passed in November 6, 2007.

Coordinated School Heath Committee

Coordinated School Health (CSH) is recommended by CDC as a strategy for improving students' health and learning in our nation's schools. The CHS Committee will review and make recommendations for a model framework for planning and implementing CSH as well as provide resources to help schools improve their school health programs.

District PBIS Core Team Committee

SUSD will use a systematic approach to improving conditions through improved measurement systems that assess safety and other conditions for learning, and the implementation of programmatic interventions that address problems identified by data. The measurement systems will use valid and reliable instruments to gather comprehensive data related to school engagement and school environment from students to assess conditions for learning and from school staff and students' families or guardians to assess school engagement.

Purpose:
Team together different perspectives, as represented by various groups, into one unifying budget recommendation that maintains the Scottsdale Unified School District’s goal of excellence in education.

SUSD Grading Committee

Purpose:
  • To study the relationship between SUSD’s current grading policies and practices and student performance on standards based assessments.
  • To study current research on how high performing school districts use assessments and grading practices to improve student learning.
  • Decrease variability in grading practices across the District.

  SUSD Parent Marketing Committee

The Parent Marketing Committee helps spread the good word about our schools and programs. It is very beneficial to us to our parents helps disseminate positive messages throughout the community. The committee is comprised of parents and District staff. This committee helps us make decisions about how to market each school and Learning Community as well as the District as a whole. It is our goal to have representation from all of our Learning Communities.

SUSD Transportation Committee

SUSD's Transportation Department is working with Student Services to identify and define behavior expectations of students on our buses. To gain a better understanding of challenges that occur on buses and to work collaboratively with bus drivers to solve behavioral challenges.

Math Adoption Committee

The Math Adoption Committee is dedicated to the process of recommending quality instructional materials that best meet the needs of SUSD's teachers and students in Pre Kindergarten through 12th grade.

Middle Level Task Force Purpose:
  1. Development of shared understanding/philosophy of the ideal Middle School.
  2. Utilizing this shared philosophy, identify essential elements for success.
  3. Develop an action plan for successful understanding and implementation of our ideal Middle School structure.
  4. Identify and prioritize what resources are needed to accomplish this task.
  5. Develop a transition plan for students, staff and parents.
  6. Participate in the transition plan (as needed).
  7. Serve as liaisons for continued growth.

Technology Task Force

The Scottsdale Unified School District has formed a Technology Task Force to address the requirement by the Arizona Department of Education (ADE) to maintain a Governing Board approved technology plan. The development of this document will utilize a technology plan template provided by ADE. The Technology Task Force members will be include school and district administrators, teachers, parents, and students.

Time Task Force

The Time Task Force is dedicated to working collaboratively with the goal of better use of each moment in our schools for teachers, parents, community members and most importantly OUR STUDENTS! This committee has the daunting task of looking at how to maximize every minute of everyday to help our schools achieve their full potentials.

The Scottsdale Unified School District has formed the Online Learning Task Force to provide reccomendations for the development of a K-12 online learning program for SUSD students.
